Our mission
Jagger's Journey was founded to honor the legacy and memory of Jagger Mills, a brave warrior of Severe Aplastic Anemia.
Our mission is to raise awareness for Aplastic Anemia and to support children during treatment with Aplastic Anemia and related rare diseases that don't have the same support system we had from our family, friends, and community until we find a cure.
Our story
August 10th.... the day our healthy son just wasn't anymore.
The number one question we are asked is what were his symptoms? Looking back, you can pick apart his asthma and try to make it fit, but to be honest, there were no symptoms that were out of the ordinary.
On August 10, 2018 Jagger Mills was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia. By definition, SAA is a rare bone marrow disorder that affects 1 in 1 million people per year. Bone marrow transplant is the only current treatment/ potential cure.
After failed immunotherapies and a failed bone marrow transplant, Jagger won his ultimate battle with SAA June 7, 2020.
We know without a doubt his journey brought our community together in so many ways. It clearly showed what faith and prayer can do. It highlighted the strength and love of our home town and his Senior class.
God has a purpose for the pain. HE is still writing Jagger's story... and in that story, Jagger is a hero.
